Dear Chairs Hooper and McClure:

My name is Arthur Goodman, and I am the CEO and Executive Producer at Oxenfree Film & Motion, a full-service creative video agency headquartered in Orlando, Florida.

Thank you for your continued support of Florida’s film and television production industry. The impact of our industry on the state is undeniable, including:

  • Hiring an average of 1,500+ local workers per feature film or television series

  • Supporting countless indirect jobs in catering, hospitality, law enforcement, lumber supply, electrical, carpentry, and more

Our industry consistently creates high-wage, high-tech jobs across the state. In fact, the average wage in our field is $101,684—53% higher than the state average across all industries. This is made possible because:

  • An average feature film spends approximately $150,000 per day, totaling around $20 million per project

  • An average cable television series spends approximately $100,000 per day, totaling $10–20 million per project

Education is a core value of Oxenfree’s company culture. Many of our team members graduated from the University of Central Florida’s Film, Fine Arts, or Radio/TV programs. We continue to support the next generation through internships, resume reviews, guest speaking, and by hiring hundreds of crew members across Florida—many of whom are graduates from the state's top film and video production programs.

Did you know Florida is home to three of the top 25 film schools in the nation, producing over 5,000 graduates each year in film and digital media?Sadly, 75% of these graduates leave Florida in search of job opportunities or better pay—both of which are directly impacted by the level of state support our industry receives.

I appreciate your leadership and ongoing commitment to Florida’s film and television industry. I urge you to continue championing policies that sustain and grow this vital economic sector. Thousands of Floridians rely on steady production work to support their families and communities, and with your continued support, we can ensure Florida remains a premier destination for film and television.

Sincerely,

Arthur Goodman
