The Film That Changed My Life

5 years ago, this film changed my whole life.

I had already been working with Snap! Orlando for years, and when the opportunity arose in 2019 to begin documenting the 10-year anniversary of the organization, I knew there was something great coming our way. I was not aware of how immense the impact would be.

It was this story that connected me to Oxenfree Film & Motion for the first time. I reached out to the company via an Instagram DM, and quickly I received a response from Ben Gill. Little did either of us know at the time where this connection would take us…

This project started pre-COVID, and what we also didn’t know is that we would capture the final exhibition opening at the Snap! Space in the Cameo Theater - the iconic venue which embodied the soul of Snap! and it’s featured artists for so many years.

The exhibition featured the legendary photographer, Douglas Kirkland, in what would also be one of his final public outings and exhibitions of his incredible work capturing some of the world’s most notable people and celebrities.

So many things we didn’t know. What an absolute privilege. What an absolute moment of luck and serendipity to capture all of these people and all of these moments, all by by such an incredible crew of filmmakers and artists.

This film was the turning point for Oxenfree, and I t still serves as the gold standard for all our work to this day. Every frame of this piece has so much soul poured into it - I still feel such deep emotions every time I catch a glimpse of this film in the lobby of our office.

I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Patrick and Holly, and it’s been an absolute honor to establish such a meaningful relationship with the Kahn family. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this film.

We love you, we miss you, and you will always be with us, Patrick.
